The two days at DFKI gave us an interesting and deeper insight how far narrative can combined with the technical options. ’Tijdmachine’ not just reflate the past or future, but also makes it possible that characters of the past or future will react on the interaction behavior of the ‘Tijdmachine’ user. Due to several little tests we prototyped together with Nils from DFKI I also got some impressions which style could be used for the ‘Tijdmachine’ experience.

On the corner of Laurenschurch – Binnenrotte  the project ‘Tijdmachine’ makes it possible in the future to experience the ‘gone city’ in a circle of 360 degree.

idea initator of ‘Time Machine’, scenario-writer and director of the project
Kirsten Kentler is born in germany in 1977. After her general qualification for university entrance she started to study art history en media sciences in Marburg/Germany for a short while. After this period she worked for three years in an advertising agency as a designer for print media. In 2000 she decided to go to the Netherlands and began the study ‘Digital Media Design’ at the School of Arts Utrecht. In 2004 she graduated as a master of arts with the project ‘Mind the stone’ and a research about immersion in interactive narration.

After her study Kirsten worked until now as a freelancer for several (interactive) commercial and personal projects. Since 2005 she is lecturing at the HKU with the main focus: interactive scenario.

Paul graduated in 2002 on concept development and production of animated film and interactive media. Next to various coordination jobs he has since been active as a researcher and developer of multimedia and multichannel experiences, mixing narrative and game principles to get people immersed into the real and digital world. For ‘Tijdmachine’ he is currently focusing on the technological side and development of follow-up proposals. As a co-founder of Augmented Narrative he is active in bringing professionals and know-how together to realize more meaningful experiences with augmented reality technologies.
